“Setting and achieving goals” is like a bag of potato chips. You can never have enough to be filled, and even if you try to, you’ll end up feeling stuffed, bloated and drained.
“Have it in moderation,” they say. But who has a chips in moderation? How realistic is that? How realistic is it to temper the appetite of ambition, particularly when its reward centers are bombarded, even if in trite and materialistic ways?
Thus what begins with a jolt of satisfaction and temporary pleasure, ends with the regret of slothful overindulgence and orients us towards disease…
